Horace Silver himself is probably the most reserved soloist on this album. In "The African Queen," he switches back in forth from straight eighths and swing. ![]() The drummer Roger Humphries does a brilliant job with creating this feel with the means of removing the snare from the snare drum but still creating a swing feel on some of the tracks. Probably what I enjoy the most out of this album is the interesting combination of swing and latin/caribbean feels.
